My second upload from Yosemite. I tried a composition I've not seen before. The tree is about 30ft tall and 30 ft away, the half dome is 4 miles away and 2000 ft higher than my vantage point 8000ft above sea level.

I just like the contrast.

Wow! This is awesome. Are you sure it's not Ansel's? Love it and the beautiful greys.

Having been to Yosemite, I can attest to just what an awe-inspiring place it is. Your picture does it justice. Fiona

wonderful scenery...feels a touch dark in places, and may take an increase in the whites Smile

Jeff the valley bottom is 10000 feet below the peaks, when the sun is setting the shadows cast by the mountains do make it very dark down there. As for the whites, the histogram is fully covered from deep blacks to Whites. If I increase the whites any more I will blow all the details in the highlights.

Absolutely stunning, especially up large. A very fine photograph with the look of a plate from an old travel book.

Ansel Adams would, I'm sure, be very pleased Smile

Never been there but i imagine it's hard for any photo viewed on here to really do that landscape justice. Print huge!

Staggeringly good Nick. The toning and clarity are superb.
