I was in Ireland last week, this is from the Temple Bar area of Dublin. The guy on the left is Eddie Valantine, the resident vocalist in the bar on a fag break, the other guy is Paul the Bar owner. If you get chance I recommend a visit, the music is brilliant.
There was an incident going on to the right, involving a young woman overcome by intoxicating substances, the Garda had become involved. I have a couple of images that may get an airing at some stage.
Photo journalism is probably my favourite genre, I don't get chance to do much of it and even less if anything finds its way to EPZ
Anyway let me know what you think

Fantastic piece of pj work, love the richness of you black and white.
Dublin distilled. Ooooh I love this - composition plus characters. I hope we get to see more.

Love this style of gritty portrait, so perfect for the subject.

Tom.
Thanks everyone. I was a bit shocked when I looked at the link to Paul Stefans image. I do remember it from when he posted, but I cant believe its the same bar, and the same guy (I think) - tho' he does chain smoke. I had thought Paul's image was from the Temple Bar pub (just along from the Quays Bar).
I recommend it if you go a great mix of Irish folk and rock, all live..helped down with a pint (alright 3 or 4 - I lost count) of the black and white stuff.
I go to Ireland 3 or 4 times a year, but its only the second time with the camera, the first time was over 2 years ago when I first picked up a dSLR - and the images then were dreadful.
Thanks again everyone.
Really pleased to see this in the HC gallery. Well done, you've really caught the character. helen
