About Me

Hi, my name is Nick and I live in Basingstoke, Hampshire. I have been interested in photography for many years and have been taking photos for as long as I can remember. My interest really took off ever since I went on a trip to Africa and was somewhat disappointed with the photos that I took. However, it is only in the last two years or so that I have really been taking my photography seriously. Last year I invested in a Nikon D50, with Nikon 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens, as well as Elements 4. Going digital, with its instant results, has helped me be more experimental and helped with my composition and exposure and I have certainly seen an improvement in my photography in the last few months.

I love taking landscape photos, as well as nightscapes and I am also very interested in macro photography. My favourite photographers and main inspiration are Charlie Waite and Joe Cornish for their landscapes and Brassaï for his nightscapes.

I think Ephotozine is great as it allows people to give feedback on other people’s photos which can only help to improve the quality of the photos. I am interested in your comments and suggestions as I want to know what does and doesn’t work; why it does and doesn’t work and how I can make things better. Some of the comments that I have received so for have been really useful in helping me improve my photography.

Thanks for looking, Nick
