A Quuen of Spain Fritillary photographed in Spain on Saturday. Usually these beautiful butterflies are hard to approach, but a good ground frost the previous night meant that even with the sun out when i took this photo at 10.20am, it was still very cold so it was going nowhere. I stayed with it until it did warm up and managed a few open wing shots.
