Having to rely on my archives a little at the moment due to my spine given me hassle once again and because of this I'm not getting out and about as much as I'd like. The only consolation being the weather isn't too good at the moment.....Never mind these things are sent to try us.
Took this shot of a Four Spot Chaser a few weeks back and have been playing around with it here and there trying to get it how I wanted it. It was a full frame capture and I think the only reason I got so close was that it hadn't very long emerged from it's larvae casing.
Any comments/criticisms or feedback would be most valued on this one as I'm toying around with putting it into a few competitions. Thanks for stopping and taking the time to have a look...
Regards as always to all.......Ade

A real ripper big man, you are on top form today Ade. The detail and clarity is outstanding and this one came within a whisker of getting my user award, close but no cigar I'm afraid!
Stunning and competition ready. You did ask so the a couple of tweeks, you have a sightly different coloured reed or stalk on the lower right hand side that might do with some de-saturating to help it blend in slightly more with the rest of the background. On the wings, could possible do with some slight 'burning' to reduce reflection and preserve detail of wing structure.
Who I am I kidding...perfect. Regards
Fabulous colours and superb detail here Ade, love it mate!
Hope your pain eases soon, although these high winds are making macro photography pretty difficult.
Wow Ade, this is so good, I'm speechless. those wings are fantastic.
btw book will take 2 weeks (grr!)
