Last night, while I was looking through my 2012 butterfly images, I discovered three, virtually untouched folders from Twywell
I recall standing patiently next to this Small skipper Thymelicus sylvestris, waiting for the early morning sun, to appear over the trees behind me.
Just for a few seconds the light was gorgeous

I agree with Carol, the rich warm tones draw you in, even in thumbnail. I agree with you, too.... the light is gorgeous.
Well, it's definitely not a tit, but a beautifully defined skipper perched perfectly on a pretty yellow daisy.
A stunning close up of this small skipper Adie, you've caught this tiny beauty in some wonderful warm light. Those pics you took at Twywell this last year must be really good if this one was only number 55!
