Blue-Tit by ali63

Blue-Tit

Such a crisp, sharp image! I see from the EXIF, you used the 300mm f4 L. I am toying with the idea of getting one next year, along with a 1.4TC. I am unsure if a zoom (like the 70-300mm L) would be better?

My kind of shot!! I love sun rises over the sea. I hale from Norfolk, but live in Derby now - about as far from the sea as you can get, so these sort of pics always jump out at me!

Cromer Pier at Dawn

Spot on!! The bins!! Didn't even see them through the viewfinder!! I tend to revisit areas i have been too before to try and put right what i did wrong the first time, so will undoubtably be going back to the pier in August.

Thanks all as well for the find words!

What wonderful symmetry with the hills in the background, the boat dead centre. Great image!

Waiting For God by andihun65

Waiting For God

You have caught a really nice candid here. The fact that the person is sitting all by themselves makes it all the more appealing. The exposure is spot on as well - not easy in a Cathedral with most of the light coming in through high windows.

The only thing I would have changed slightly is the composition - a few steps to the right and back a few feet to make the aisle lead your eye into the picture. It would also put the subject to the left, and not dead centre as he is at the moment.

Cheers
Nige

Defenceless by coxy

Defenceless

Happsiburgh?

Will be down in Hoveton for 2 weeks on 26th July! My old stomping grounds, and really looking forward to getting back on the beach and seeing what else has been washed away!

Love this shot - real atmosphere, and just the right amount of 'blur' to the water. The foam has left some nice trails for you as well. Nice one!

Yorkshire bumps

This really jumped out of the gallery while I was browsing!! Really different image - I love the 'SLOW''s on the road, that kind of lead you eye through the pic - would love to drive down it!!

Pitlochry revisited by Metalhead

Pitlochry revisited

Hi Chris.

I know this is an old image, but I was immeadiately drawn to this one from your PF. The lead in line of the road takes you right into the picture, and straight to the sun coming through the clouds. I think I would have cloned out the post though, as it causes a slight disraction from the amazing light in the scene. You where in the right place at the right time with this one - well done.

Little visitor

Small bird, so good attempt!! Was the lens at full 300mm (600mm with the x2 tele) then? If so, pretty good considering it was hand held!

Beautiful Buick, Cuba by SugarDJ

Beautiful Buick, Cuba

Pretty good nick for a 50 year old car!! Love the fact that most of the cars over there are of that era, and still going strong, being used every day! Cuba is on my 'to do list'!! Great shot - bet you didn't want to come home!!!

The street shared my tears, I am its shadow by prophecyblur

The street shared my tears, I am its shadow

Claustrophobic image this - like the underexposure idea, as it has given the image a forboding look. Water makes some nice lead in lines too. Good stuff.

The Old Cottage by gazb159

The Old Cottage

What a lonely looking place - would love to live there, away from the rat race!!!! While I really like the shot, have you tried a mono version? Think it would accentuate the 'bleakness' look a lot more.

Cromer Pier by TheBaldyMan

Cromer Pier

All ways visit Cromer when I'm down in Norfolk. Love this image, its mentioned above but it has a olde world style about it that really makes the shot. In colour it wouldn't have been so effective. Nice one!

Portcullis House and Eye by oldhat

Portcullis House and Eye

Thats a really good, different view of the Eye - rather than the tradtional views from Westminster Bridge or the Embankment! Two iconic (and expensive!!) pieces of modern architecture! Great shot!

Bass Harbour Light House by wjtcastell

Bass Harbour Light House

Really interesrting and 'different' shot this! Love the colour cast, and the viewpoint - makes it look really imposing. It has an almost dream like quality, and it reminds me of something I have seen before - just can't remember what it is!! Great stuff!
