She is a wee gem Clint

Love the feather detail

An unassuming bird, that is often overlookedSad

If folks took the trouble, they would realise that House sparrows are less populated, than some of the more "fancy" birds that are posted

A good flock/colony of House sparrows is a sight to behold these days - we have them just up the road, but I have never made the effortSad

An outstanding capture, Clint.
Like Adrian says, a much overlooked species on here,
I wish I had Sparrows where I live. Even in our rural location, Sparrows
are only present in one part of our village and not in any numbers.
I remember as a child I would trap them using a wooden seed tray a length of
string and some bread crumbs, and let them go of coarse.
Sparrows were some of the first birds I photographed.

Another absolute Gem Clint, a wonderful capture of a welcome visitor to my garden, I just wish I had the skill to capture them the way you do.

Thanks for the info guys and thanks Colin for the award.
There was a time a couple of years ago that i had dozens of these little birds
at the feeders in the garden, even though there are many cats around our way.
I have,nt seen one in my garden for well over a year now although they are still in
the area as this one was shot at the nature reserve about a mile away.

all the best, Clint
