Vanellus vanellus otherwise known as the Lapwing.
Spotted this one today looking for a meal of earthworms.
During periods of ice and snow in winter,when earthworms become inaccessible,large flocks move about.Most Lapwings will move southwards until they reach a frost-free area.In winter Lapwing flocks are often followed by Common gulls which are always on the lookout to steal an earthworm from an unwary Lapwing.
