My first attempt with an underwater housing for my compact. Taken whilst snorkelling. Very difficult to stay still and frame the image at the same time!

You have captured the lovely Acanthurus sohal Sohal Surgeonfish. These are browers on filamentous microalgae. very territorial and will fight to the death to defend an area of the reef, even attacking divers. The name surgeon fish comes from a bone at the base of the caudal peduncle which can be locked out and act like a scapel. It will attack Parrot fish and Triggers if they stray too close.
