The final image in my mini series of recent sunsets with inadequate foregrounds. Or perhaps the "keep up with Josh" series if named by Fran... lol.
Another quick capture with the IXUS - I was fascinated by the way the clouds seemed to radiate from a point in the sky behind the trees. Maybe not as "hot" as yesterday - but a wider range of colours here!
1/80s f2.8 ISO "Auto"
Please let me know what you think of this one, what could be better and how it compares with the last two (that's if you have lots of time to spare!) Many thanks, Mike

I prefer this to 'Molten metal above' for the magnificent sky and the way the clouds lead the eye into the image.
But - it's such a pity about the pole sticking out of the hedge. :-(
Paul
Paul I thought about trying to clone the pole out, but a step too far in complexity I fear!
Mike
It's another beauty. It's fantastic to see the sun hit the bottom of the clouds that way and produce such gorgeous colors. This isn't really the last one ![]()
Anne
That's not a pole, it's Odin's spear - cast down from the heavens - LOL

My thoughts exactly Mike, but might be worth a try if you take the clone from one of the tops of another bush in the image.
After your Molten sky, this is the dying embers, streaks of bright heat among the grey ashes. Very beautiful. Given the textures available, in the sky and the tree, the pole would probably clone out quite well, but it was there, it's part of the scene. And I like Anne (wefi)'s idea.
Moira
The best of the three, Mike, the wide-ish angle has emphasised the cascade of cloud and light fanning out toward and over you. Splendid!

Bill
Another stunning capture of a great looking sky. Very well done
another stunner mike, that sky is priceless, good work in such a short time regards steve
Quite an amazing sky. Great shot. JNC
Robert, I was in such a rush with the little camera, and also not expecting much - I'm not sure I even saw the pole! I've been working on cloning this evening - maybe I'll upload the image without the pole in the near future when I'm short of something new!
Thanks everyone for this wonderful response.
Mike
This one is my favourite, too, it suggests movement, the clouds rising and spreading, lovely tones too.
Stick a flag on the pole !
Well done, Mike, you're racking up the votes here, for sure.

I'm extremely flattered by all the clicks and comments - thanks to everyone!
Mike
Friends, I'm utterly amazed - you've been kind enough to to give me 50 votes for the first time!
Thank you very much!
Mike
