Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's yellow protea. This is another from the same garden near Funchal, Madeira.
The species is Telopea speciosissima and it originates from NSW. (I photographed the label as a way of noting this info!)
Taken on a top-end compact - Canon G11 - which find excellent as a 'holiday camera' after decades of toting an SLR kit. Cropped a little, no other adjustment.
