Sorry i have not been on here much in the past few weeks .My step Father passed away on the 11/12/11 in Australia and even though i knew that it was coming .It hit me really hard ,but things are getting a little easier esp when i think of the great times we had .With many thanks to a few friends on here and also locally for their kind words ,cards and support.
His father was a miner and his Mum looked after him and his sister Eleanor, they had no electricity in the village or flush toilets!!!
The mining village was about 4 miles from Amble and overlooked Druridge bay. There were no roads and you had to walk or get a lift on a horse and cart to the nearest town which was Amble .
I know that he would have loved this pic of Runswick bay bathed in the first light of the day.As he loved the sea, moors and countryside.
Hope that you all have a lovely Christmas and New year
