A great result. The original looks so dull - had it been mine I would have given up on it (and I would have been wrong to), but you've achieved a great B&W conversion from it. For me the solarisation is what makes it work - making the image really strong and full of dramatic contrast. |

Fog burning off by whatriveristhis Should work well as BW, with a ghostly shape on the right to balance it out. |
Low Tide at The Mount by BydoR9 I like the moody atmosphere and the blue toning. Good composition with the chain pulling you into the image. A good record shot |

The Fisherman, Dungeness by DaveTurner Great sky. Well seen |
Into the storm by whatriveristhis Great sky and rain curtain. Not sure about the man. Maybe he's too large in the frame - I think I would have preferred to see more of the storm and have the man dwarfed by it. That's the way I see it anyways |
Wave edge, North Sea by whatriveristhis I like the colours and the colour split of the photo. I like the red exclamation mark of the sail (I'd get rid of the tiny blob on the horizon next to it). There does seem to be something missing though - the image is so abstract that it cannot exist as a straight photo - for me it needs to be more painterly, more abstract. I wish I knew what I was on about, but I hope this helps in some way |
Derwentwater by whatriveristhis What attracted me to your image were the colours. At first I was hoping for a bit more definition (sharpness), but I see your point. The way I perceive it - focusing on the soft colours in the sky, I find the brightness of the water a touch distracting, although at the same time it provides a frame for the hills in the centre of the image. Maybe I'd shave off a tiny bit off the bottom of the frame |
Winnats Pass or Not as the case may be by ArtyArt WOW! What a weather! This is a super image - love the diagonals of the hills, the way they come to a point at the bottom. You've captured nature at its most powerful. This deserves more votes. If I'd come across your image sooner, you would have had my user award. |
Great photo experiment. My first thought was: did the aliens answer? Sorry, I have an awful sense of humour |
