took a similar pic with my phone last week
This is the same setup but using a SLR camera for the First time
I am having lessons in photography as i am taking my Duke of Edinburgh's award and i have chosen photography as my skill.

Well done, the water droplet adds to the overall picture, i would perhaps have a little more light at the bottom left hand side, but that is only my opinion.

This is gorgeous! The apple looks so tempting and fresh, with the water droplets in brilliant focus. I also really like the bright colours of the apple against the dark, two tone background. A wonderful start to your DofE award! Smile

Apple is underexposed, - brighten a little.

Remove light reflection from skin

Remove tiny blue mark at bottom.

Background is very mottled, fill with black, including the lower area.

Crop to add a little more space at the top.

Reduce saturation about -15, - red is blown out.

Consider darkening apple on the left just a little.

Mod uploaded.

Willie said everything I wanted to say. You either did use an external gun or continuous light source as the highlight shows. It needs to go, then the rest of the image needs brightening up. Just lacks that bit of punch.
