IS THIS THE RED GIANT; BETELGEUSE ? SHAME THE IMAGE HAS GONE SO BLOCKY.HAVE YOU MANAGED TO GET ANY GOOD PICS OF SATURN THIS WINTER AS IT LOOKS GREAT THROUGH MY SCOPE.IF YOU HAVNT DONE IT ALREADY ,CHECK OUT THE PICTURE GALLERY IN FEBS ASTRONOMY NOW ,OF THE ANDROMEDA GALAXY,SOMTHING TO ASPIRE TO.
thanks for that.ive just been out with my digi camera taking photos [bloody freezing],through the eye piece of my little telescope, of saturn.not so good on photo ,but great results using video mode!i suppose it is a very bright object.its misted over now so not much point in waiting for jupiter to come up.oh yeah, just bought astronomy now [jan iss] astro photography articles .i will try and produce at least one good astro pic in the next month and post it on this site ,and maybe baffle a few non star gazers, how about the orion nebula?
certainly makes a nice change from the endless sunset photos [nice though most are]its always worth having a camera with you in the morning when youre on the way to work[or coming home from a party,or night shift].seeing the sunrise can lift the day, getting a nice pic is a added bonus.
you certainly were rewarded for your effort. great pic.its only clear 7 days a year on the summit,so i am told.makes me want to get my boots on and drag mrs om up there, she said she fancies a weekend in wales this winter.i wont show her this though, it looks as cold as it probably was.
