Taken with Canon 400D and MPE 65mm macro
Another shot from my time with the hornet, sadly whilst I can't fault the model the photographer didn't quite get things right this time - a little too close and cut off his mandibles - still got some great detail in his eye and antenna

Glorious shot - love the colours and textures. The sheen on the forehead and the antennae emphasizing the pores, the liquid/velvet look on the antennae itself - beautiful.
