Well, today Ann and I went hiking in the mountains. The trail is called the Cove to Lake Cuhillo. Half way to the lake we came to a ridge and looked down into this beautiful golf course. Was quite a surprise.
Much thanks to Rock for his UA for one of my Annie pics.

Yes, I can see it was a surprise - that green area in the middle of the barren mountains.

Great shot Sandy, though I think a golf course in such an arid location is just ridiculous, what a waste of precious water!

That lush green of the fairway is so unexpected in such a dry desert environment, Sandy: bet they have the sprinklers out most of the time to keep the grass looking like tis.

I like the compo, the space scaled by the figures and the surprising golf course located in it. It's great!

How strange! Why on earth would anyone put a golf course there? The grass does look amazingly green and there's even a large rusty tank for the RAS members! Well seen and captured.

I'm envious of that sunshine at the moment. There hasn't been much of that about here in Devon recently- or all year in fact. Still, 2013 is another year .... A great shot
Happy New Year, Sandy

Love the juxtaposition Sandy ( how much water does it take to keep it green in this arid landscape !!) An environmental statement ?

This golf course looks rather out of place in the middle of the desert. This is a superbly composed landscape and the view is very spectacular
