Brilliant!
I have tried this so many times and failed.I take my hat off to you.
Trying to choose my favorite moment in photography would be impossible, i had sold my beloved motorcycle to help pay for a new 200- 400 F4 vr Nikon lens,i took a day off work on recieving it to give it test run, i sat in a hide that really was out of bounds as the path to it was closed for repair, no one was working on the day so as i am not given to throwing myself in front stationary dumpers or rollers i felt the risk was worth it, twenty minutes of waiting and a pair of Grey Wagtails performed just for me, around 10 metres from the hide, Awesome ! apart from a few test shots this was the first shot using the new lens, certainly a moment and day to relish.
A huge thank you to everyone, i am so pleased that this shot has been so well recieved. This bird was perching on a branch directly in front of where i sat and for several minutes it would spring into action to catch its prey, i panned out a little to give myself a better chance and prefocused on an area on the same focal plane as the branch, then i kept the bird to the bottom right of the frame giving maximum space for the action as soon as the bird so much as flinched i reeled off a series of shots with the notion that it may all happen on my chosen focal point,on reviewing the shots and seeing this ! well, just too much for words. thanks again.
