There are so many different mormon butterflies, I find it difficult to identify them. Although in the swallowtail family, some do not have tails. I think this is a male of the species. It settled on a bird of paradise flower.
Thankyou for your continued interest in this series.
It may be a good idea for me to move on, though, and upload something different next time.
Pamela.

It couldn't have settled on a more pleasing bloom, Pamela, a beautiful image, well captured and presented. Carol

A beautifully detailed shot of this dark butterfly, not easy to get exposure spot on as you have done, and considering the bright vibrant perch it chose to alight upon.
Beautiful nature image, Pamela.

This is magnificent Pamela. But what has really grabbed my attention is the angle of capture of the Strelizia. Even without the butterfly it would be amazing, as it's very unusual. Thanks for the idea SmileSmile

I haven't disabled my awards, Antoinette, so I'm not sure what happened there.
What a pity, it's my birthday today and it would have made a nice presentSmile .

Thankyou all for your lovely comments.
Just for information, this isn't a composite, it really did land on that flower. All I changed was the background.

Now this is simply awesome. To find such a beautiful butterfly-flower combo is one thing. But to get such a perfect shot of it is something else. Exquisitely processed and presented too, Pamela Smile
