Firstly, a big thankyou to Moira (mrswoolybill) and Pam (mashwood10) for your User Awards on Discovery 1.

Here is a further set of angles on the double helix structure of the Discovery Sculpture in Northampton, a memorial to Sir Francis Crick, the discoverer of DNA. I have added the picture of the whole of the sculpture again, as V5.
I was there early morning, and the sun rose to reflect nicely upon the statues.

Pamela.

Beautifully captured memorial to ONE of the discoverers of DNA which I assume is there because he came from near where the sculpture is located. DNA was discovered by Dr James Watson who, along with Professor Francis Crick, Dr Rosalind Franklin (and Professor Maurice Wilkins), discovered the double helix structure of DNA in 1953. I sincerely hope that they all have similarly impressive memorials.

Yes, you are right, Lynne. It was naughty of me to only mention Francis Crick as the discoverer. I have read a lot about the DNA discovery since finding the memorial. This is in Francis Crick's home town, and only commemorates the one discoverer here. I have no idea about memorials for the others.
Pamela.

You might just get another UA tomorrow... You know that photographing sculpture is a passion of mine, V1 and V2 in particular tick the boxes even better than the previous upload, because of the spatial relationship that they create between the two figures. Not easy.

Cannot decide between 1 and 2, Pamela. The interaction of the different angles is fascinating, as if they were passing each other in mid-air.

Beautiful set of images with wonderful light , colour and clarity.
I noticed that you have a lot of front shots of the diver.. I just wonder what it would be like if the diver was shot from his back against the sky.. .. I mean, like diving back into the water...would it also look like "flying" in the sky?Grin Maybe it's not possible, it depends on the angle of the sculpture. Or PSP itGrin
