Firstly, I'd like to thank metro074 (thanks, Carol) for her User Award on my Golden Chalice Vine, and to everyone who voted and commented, it is really appreciated that this series is finding favour.

I found this beautiful lily at Staunton Country Park in Havant, Hampshire, and have yet to find out its name. I think it's probably an Oriental hybrid, but it was its large size that attracted me most, and the hoverflies that were attracted to it, as well as its yellow stripes and red speckles.
I will keep searching and see if I can find a name for it.
Of course, if anyone knows it, I'd be grateful for an ID.
Pamela.

PS: I've found it! It's an Oriental hybrid lily called "Lovely Girl", renowned for its very large, exotic, intensely scented, upward-facing blooms.

the visitors and colour exceptional

The different angles, arrowheads, of petals, leaves and bud, fit so neatly into the rectangular frame. And then that inky green shadow and hint of golden light. This is special.

I have never seen one this colour before, Pamela: beautifully captured in exquisite detail and set against that darkish b/g it positively glows.
Very fine floral photography and presentation.

What a stunning flower Pamela, such wonderful detail, clarity, pristine white and presentation. You are giving Ronnie G a good run for his money when it comes to photographing flowers, this is right up there with his best work.

Superb colour and detail, lovely little fly made it more interesting.. I can't tell the name of the flower but I like the sound of the name, if you spoke Chinese and called the name of the flower I might answerGrin..because Jasmine in Chinese is "Li" as well..Grin
Keep up your superb flower show, and take care, Pamela
