I have a job with autumn I have to admit its suppose to be a lovely pretty season,
but to me it is the dying of the summer,
I like to think of it now as a time to wind down and rest,
for my little bit of the planet to rest and wait,

this is a few lines from a poem I wrote about the autumn

I don't want the summer to go
red polish is still on my toe
my arms are still brown
the cat wears a frown,
and my geraniums still give a show.... Sad

the birds have gone off to the sun .....

Sorry it is Autumn---for me it is the end of weeding and togging bugs-- a little ore time to take care of other things!

These images are lovely--- I want to catch the rabbit!

First off, your poem is awesome Smile

Wonderful images you've got here, Maureen. For me, there's one clear favourite - V2. Sooo beautiful.

It has to be V2 for me, too, Maureen, because of the subtlety of the colours, the depth of the background image, and the way you've framed the face with the background autumnal foliage.
The child's face is beautiful, and she looks to be resting, just as nature is preparing to do.

as some of liked my poem here is some more,

now you say that the summer has died.

and the street light will now be my guide

dark mornings have come

and the suns on the run

and the butterflies now have to hide

If I'm not very quick I will not

get a look at the sun on my plot

before it goes down again

after trying to feign

that its sunny and really quite hot.

some birds have good sense they have gone

together in a holiday throng

they've gone off abroad,

where the sunshine is stored

and will sit in the sun before long

the hedgehogs have gone off to sleep,

and the squirrels have stored nuts to keep

I've looked out my wool hat,

which now looks like a rat.

its enough to make a soul weep.

And now the summer will turn into ice

until a new spring is thrown on the dice

and me I will sit by my fire and knit

and share my warm house with the mice

Maureen
