helo back again,
been very very busy,

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.

those who know me will know
how i love the poems of john claire, and although the above its Keats,
this is what inspired the picture,

That brought him comfort in its long dark night,

As joyful list’ning, while the fire burnt bright,

Some neighbouring labourer’s superstitious tale, 60

How “Jack-a-lantern,” with his wisp alight,

To drown a ’nighted traveller once did fail,

He knowing well the brook that whimper’d down the vale

and are found in the fens,

just imagine the days when light pollution did not exist, and when they would appear.

some folks were frightened of then.
and called them spirits

Very imaginative, beautiful and skilled composite. I like the theme and the accompanying poetry. Being constructive, for me the deer stands out as being too sharp for where is it supposed to be in the background and so doesn't quite sit as well with the rest. Perhaps making it smaller and moved to the other side of the stone circle with a bit of blur added to it might be a more balanced position too?
Regards
Al

An amazing image - so well worked!
To load a variant - Go to Options (below your image on this page), Upload a Version, Choose Photos, wait for it to upload and then Back to Photo (or something like that if I remember correctly!).

Another of your absolutely wonderful creations. I really like the ancient structure in the background -- adds a timeless spirituality to the whole thing.

thank you Walter and sandy,

yes there's a sad feel the image,
i dont really like the autumn,
winter i can cope
keeping warm and cosy and knowing the spring is on its way.

but the autumn is not really my thing.

i was originally going to call the image waiting,
or autumn sacrifice. ?

well i am not sure if the title influences the image or not.
what do you think ??

does the title make the image appear differently,
???
i think it does Wink

and Walter although i have manipulated the stones,
one of my fondest memories is visiting Avebury stone circle one very quite and peaceful autumn morning when it was misty and magical.

and we were the only ones there.

maureen

p.s. i have just tried to upload a variant again and although it appears successful, i cant find it any suggestions.l.l
