In cooking, a clay stove is heated by burning wood, charcoal, animal dung or crop residue. This stove is good for cooking regular meals. Many women in rural India spending several hours a day for cooking.
my muscles are aching just looking at this
cant imagine cooking from that position...even if younger!!!!
good one the ovens are very good as it happens
Nice shot Debu like it, Something i use in India when i am there, i cook on a Chula in my Garden, is this made from Mud and Cow pat, they cook food beautifully, and heat is so intense.
An excellent image, Debu, showing rural life at its best. Carol
Hope they use dried Cow dung only. We have many Buffalow milk venders in the neighbor hood but it becomes fertilizer only.
The same cute lady making Palm leave brooms .
Very nice traditional scene!
A great insight into rural life, I would have to get myself a little stool to sit on.....bet that oven works a treat, well captured
Beautiful capture of indian village scene.

Another wonderful insight into rural life in India. That stove is very cleverly constructed.
Lovely picture. I like the colour in an almost B&W picture.
