I enjoy visiting this rocky shoreling south of San Francisco. There are so many things happening all at once that it is hard to remember it all, so I tried to capture it all right in this image. I especially remember the saltiness and the last bit of sun on the surf. The Pelicans were diving for fish, and there were hundreds on that rock!
And yes, as usual it was slippery and I got nailed by one of those sneaker waves. So what's new?.
This is my first upload with EPZ version 4. The company reorg left me with a job for at least another few months. So hopefully I'll have more time for EPZ. (Edit June 1, actually I'm looking for new work so no time for EPZ after all. I'll be back in July I hope!)

Ron
Thanks Paul. And thanks Pete for the HC! Now I have to get used to the new paradigm. It looks good so far. From a database perspective, I think it will be more efficient and easier to add new features.
LOL Maddie. I'll have to ask you for tips on POTW's. I have no models around the house!
Thanks Ron and Rich.
Patrick
Great view Patrick, captured perfectly, and well done for the HC.
Needs to be seen large to be appreciated. Seems like a simple image but there is some wonderful detail in the foreground rocks and the light quality is superb. A deserved HC Patrick.
Steve!
There you are.. Been missing your shots Patrick.
Like this one, great detail, lovely light.
john
This needs to be seen large to really appreciate the fantastic lighting on this. Wonderful colours in the sky which in turn highlight the wave that is breaking in the distance! A well deserved HC!
Strolls in here after a little holiday and walks away again with an HC under the arm. What a disgrace ![]()
Good photo, beautifull exposure. What are all those things sticking out from that rock in the right upper corner ? Pelicans ? Grass ? trees ? an epz meet ?
Excellent image, as usual, very inspiring--
I had not seen an image from you for some time-- just RE-ADDED you to my favorites-- Think you (and some others got lost in the re-organization.
We are fine here in the North East if a bit storm weary-- but all is turning Green--- thanks for your comments!
Jennnnnn
Love the f/g colours in this. Great comp Patrick and welcome back.
Howard
A beautiful image Patrick, I like those waves breaking in the background and that wonderful light behind the rock and pelicans - congrat's for your awards!

Hey Pat, cracking good shot, my youth was spent at the beach-hut and rocky pools around Exmouth in Devon, not quite as dramatic as this but you've nailed the spirit of those wonderful days, cheers bud, Mac
ps: hope the work thing is working out the way you want it to
Superb sharpness and detail. I like the capture of the movement in the nearer water and the breking waves further away.
John
What a come-back shot - sheer mastery. Bruce
Stunning light, Patrick. The foreground rock detail is fabulous.
Colin

Yes Dan, there were hundreds of pelicans everywhere.
Me too Alex, though I don't know for how long.
LOL Edgar, I was lost in a way. If you only knew....

No problem George.
HI Jan, I'll have to see where you have gone. I hope you keep uploading here though.
It was Tommy.
Keep it up Glen, you are improving quickly.
Pete, drop me an email and I'll point you to the right spots. Or we could even meet if you get extra time.
Thanks Magda, I'm trying to get better at that.
Jumpers Arnie? With or without paragliders? That view is incredible.
How Dennis? By almost killing myself on angled dlippery rocks amonst other things. Actually I usually watch a place for about 1/2 hour just to see how things look and feel. Then I try to get the best parts into a photo.
Thanks Gaz, but it looks to be a temporary thing.
Patrick
Great piece of photography as usual, Patrick. Congratulations on the HC!
Ted
There's not a lot I can say that's not already been said? just fab...
You just keep truning in consistently high standard photos, Patrick. You have captured beauty and spirit without any need for over-stauration etc. ![]()
amazing photo PAtrick well done. Haven't seen you photos in a while, taking a break?
Ciao
joe
I was also wondering where you have been until I re-read the your statement under the photo. Well, if the weather is the same in northern California as it is down here, you surely have not missed any photo opportunities. Nothing dramatic at all.
Missed this one Patrick - quality as always.
Hopefully see your work back on epz soon!
Mark.
Hi Patrick!
Hope you're doing ok and that the "looking for work" situation is going well... Looking forward to seeing more images from you again soon!
you will always win with the seascapes Patrick..
