THIS PICTURE HAS BEEN LOADED AS A PANORAMIC. PLEASE VIEW LARGE FOR FULL EFFECT IF YOU HAVE TIME. THE SMALL SEEMS TO HAVE LOST DETAIL WHEN RESIZING FOR WEB.
On the way to Glasgow airport to pick up the wife I stopped at the Forth bridge to take a few snaps. This was taken at 5 different exposures and tone mapped in photomatix. I cant quite make up my mind if I prefer the original size or the cropped version so i have loaded the uncropped version as a variant. Please let me have your opinion.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking

Great picture!
You have captured the grand scale of this bridge and in
a nice balanced composition.
Great shot, the red of the ironwork against that gorgeous blue sky works a treat. I like both shots, the panaramic edges it for me though. On the full one I do really like the foreground. It would be interesting to crop the top as you did with the pano but leave more foreground in at the bottom so that sky is roughly one third of the image. ![]()
Dav.
think I like the uncropped version a great composition
Thank you kaybee and Davart for your comments. You both hit the nail on the head with my dilemma. I too liked the pebbles in the fg but the general comp didnt look right. So I had to sacrifice some of the pebbles when cropping for the panoramic.
Thanks everyone else too for your kind clicks and comments. Much appreciated
Paul
Think I would have just cropped some of the sky out myself as the pebbles in the fg are fab, no offence but I am not convinced about the tone mapping in this image seems to have had an odd effect on the first section of the bridge, almost looks blurred. As a pano I think the subject lends itself very well and you have done a great job here.
Best Matt
You're so right Paul, this must be viewed large to get the proper effect, as to choice, I think I prefer the uncropped version, but it's only by a whisker! What on earth are they doing on the bridge, that scaffolding has been there for over two years now!

A most impressive image, excellent composition and colours

Agree with Matt, I wondered it it is the tone mapping effect, something seems wrong. It looks blurred. Everything else is good stuff,
Johanna
