Another quick post just to say thank you to the people who clicked and voted on yesterdays shot. It was a pleasant surprise considering I have been absent for nearly 6 months or more. This shot is of Stonehaven peak. I dont know what the mounument is on the top of the hill cos I didnt have time to go and visit. The shot was taken from the other side of the bay with 300mm zoom. Will go back some day and find out the history.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Paul, The mounument is a war memorial which overlooks Strathlethan Bay. The memorial lies on Black Hill one kilometere southeast of Stonehaven. The structure was built after the First World War, in the form of a round classical temple, and was unveiled in 1923. The memorial was designed by John Ellis, an Aberdeen architect, to look unfinished, symbolising incomplete lives of those who died. The memorial was later augmented with the names of the dead from the Second World War. Hope this is helpful.
Allan
beautiful light on golden fields that sky looks pretty interesting to - to sum up, a great shot
Looks almost unreal, out of space - great colours and light again,
Johanna
