Or for those of you who dont have a scooby...... A common crane fly. Spotted down by the River Don in Aberdeen today. Took a number of this critter as it kindly posed in differnt positions. Not everyones cup of tee but since taking up photography I am fascinated by the intricacy of insects.

Ive noticed a few crane flies around, surely much too early for them. Usually late August/Sept is the usual time they are out.
