What a beautiful shot! What to say? is perfect. Love the monochrome choice. The composition is simply fascinant.

An abstract with a human story. That raised hand is just wonderful.
The light area doesn't bother me, I like the idea of the child crawling innocently from light towards dark. It plays on our instinctive desire to protect children from any hint of risk - when they just want to explore.

Every time I've gone to this location I've looked to shoot this image with someone sat on the bench (no one ever seems to sit there). Hence placing the little guy in the image and running up the steps to get the image before running back down to supervise his first solo climb.
This is wonderful. I can't compare it with anyone else's work and I certainly don't have words to define its symbolism etc - it's in a class of its own. I wouldn't change anything as the space is required for the total impression.
And Moira says if I don't get in first with my U.A. she will add hers tomorrow!
Best wishes
Bill
Silly me - made the comment but missed the Award button. I shall probably never learn!
