11 week old female Jack Russell pup belonging to son's wife's brother. Got caught and asked to talk some shots, but just had camera and nothing else. Available light from a window and not very bright - only camera internal gun and rather too close so have the usual long nosed animal depth of field issue. Obviously focused on eye - does that work with most of the frame being less than sharp.
The owner liked it, so that's the main thing, but he is not a photographer in any sense.
EOS 7D, 18/125 OS Sigma at 125 mm to fill frame. 1/125 @ f5.6. ISO400. Some work with dodging tool on eyes and left of head. Surround burnt in. Smart sharpen. OS on. No flash.

Oh, now that's just adorable! Well taken and well processed. Filling the frame works very well and the soft-focus paws are definitely not a problem.
Since you're asking for critique, I feel honour-bound to offer some suggestions but they're only small ones. It actually looks like you had just enough depth of field to get the nose sharp by focusing a touch farther forwards. And the puppy's slightly right-of-centre, looking slightly to the right, so maybe shifting left just a touch would make it even better.
But if you hadn't asked for critique, you'd've only got the first five, or maybe ten, words.
Thanks for all of that. I think there is almost always something to say, and preference being subjective, it is unsual for everyone to like everything. I rarely now put work directly into my gallery as I find that comments are few and I am not interested in awards and voting. The best way to get people to have a look is via the critique section, and, as said, there is usually something wortwhile to be gained.
Comments here then help me to decide what to do with this and similar images.

Yes, a lovely image with good lighting and dof, I'm not surprised the owners were happy with it, I would have been too.
