The post and chain were originally part of a wharf but now are outside a restaurant. Behind the post and grass and bunch of flowers is a car park, a main highway and a factory. So I removed them (took several weeks) and went to the a beach to photographed the moon as it sank in an evening sky. The post photographed at:
ISO 100, focal length f/78mm, 1/20th sec at f/14.
The sky: ISO 1000, focal length 105mm 1/500th sec at f/4.2

Not sure about the new moon, I think it's angled chain that makes this image work. Either way it gets my click.

I like the effect of the wispy grasses against the strong shapes and textures of the post and chain. The sober restricted colour range also adds a strength an dignity to this image.

Eric

This is more like a painting, well conceived and lovely tones.
