This is my closest shot of a male Marsh Harrier and yes apologies for cutting the wing off the frame. It flew right over the Leighton Moss hide and my continuous focus setting wasn't quite as quick to ' lock on' as I'd hoped. Never mind with my modest equipment it's that bit closer. I still want to get one 'in the wild' rather than a sanctuary etc.

There is a marsh harrier at one of the lochs I sometimes go to. Have only caught a quick glimpse of it and certainly not quick enough with the camera. You caught it quite well Paul.
Have never seen coot chicks either! Moira

Great shot !!....not easy to achieve with Harriers, they're constantly on the move....so well done !!

I've tried to 'nab' one, but they haven't come close enough yet ??...one day maybe !!

Since I can't capture anything quicker than a stationary flamingo, I am the last person to criticise and just full of admiration that you got this shot.

Excellent shot Paul, wish I could get one like that.

Cracking shot, way better than any of my feeble attempts to capture an in flight bird.

Great capture. I can almost sense the Marsh Harrier's intent to swoop down.
Vivien

Smashing shot Paul, i've never seen one of these before!
You very lucky Smile

'Superb in-flight Capture, Paul!'

"I will forgive You this time,...for just clipping a bit of wing off the image frame."

(PS: Now, I think I will post 'my low-flying male Mallard Shot,'...Where I 'just clipped one of his Wings off the frame'~~)~~ Smile

Ciao~ Peter
