Taken during a very heavy rain and hail shower above Grasmere in the Lakes.
It was one of those days sunshine and great views one minute and rain and sleet the next,
but at least you could see it coming.

Very atmospheric, yes it rains a lot in the lakes and if it isnt raining, wait 5 minutes.

Paul this looks like HDR to me. Is it just one exposure? If so, did you adjust the exposure in the lower or upper parts of the raw image before making the JPEG?

Just one exposure taken halfway up a mountain while sheltering under an umbrella.
Processed in cs6 with a slight adjustment to curves otherwise pretty much as it was.
