I have taken this scene before but it looked a little flat, so went back with better light to try again.
What do you think ?
Can't really give you professional advice, but I like it. Nicely done!
great image well done.
Wonderful contrasts, Alethea and good strong composition
Isn't it sad when you spend so much time on ePz that you instantly recognise shots that have been posted previously?! I haven't looked again at the previous posting yet, Alethea, but this one is excellent.
Love the composition and it works well in B/W.
I recognised this as yours too!! Is it Three cliffs area? ...the strong contrast works well giving the image punch (maybe ever so slightly overdone?)
Good strong image. I like the contrast. Well done.
This is at Ogmore near Southerndown isnt it?, the lighting is really good, shows all the textures in the stones, works really well as B&W, great work Alethea.
I think it is an awesome image. Quite simply one of your best - its that good!
Thanks for all those comments everyone, it is much appreciated.
Just to answer a couple of things, its pretty much as taken on camera with a slight adjustments in levels, and a tiny bit of work to light the first stone up a bit.
Its Three Cliffs at a place called Pennard Pill, unfortunately its impossible to get the three cliffs in the same shot, unless of course you are very good in photoshop !
Thanks Tony, that means a lot !
I love the lead in and works very well in black and white! My B&Ws have not been too succesful on here, click
I too like the lead in from the stones works very well
Great again Alethea.
Makes me wonder why I changed my camera!!
Looks pretty cool to me.
Hello Alethea, love the way the repetition of the stones feature so well leading the eye into the scene...the balance of land and water features well. Good work.
Thanks guys, really appreciate you looking, glad you liked it, it was worth another shot at it then.
great stuff, would look good on any wall
Hi Alethea, Love your composition of this photo. Superbly done, it looks great in B&W.
ps Thanks for your lovely comments on my Southerndown photos, most appreciated.
Like the lead in and angle. The B&W works well. click. John
Thanks to Shane, Phil and John, I am pleased with this one and intend to go and take the scene in different conditions so you may see more of it !
You are very welcome Phil, you images are stunning.
Very strong B&W image. Well seen, composed and taken.
Thanks Gerry, glad you liked this one, its a favourite spot of mine.
I think it's great....Great composition and light, glad you went back...Sue
Thanks Sue, nice to hear from you.
Good shot Alethea. Nice lead in and good and contrasty. Really well done..
Cheers for that Craig !
Great shot Alethea. The composition is excellent and is really emphasised by the the high contrast mono.
Thanks Gareth, its a superb place, am going back to try it from another angle !
Excellent strong composition, great b&w image. The high contrast works very well.
Cheers for those comments Anja.
Nice subdued contrasts...like it lots...click, Mac
Thanks Mark, appreciate you taking the time to look.
Canon 10D eh, I'll look out for those landscapes !
The high contrast treatment really adds punch to this one, Alethea. I've never really considered these stepping stones before (merely crossed them). I'll have to think again now I've seen this shot.
Love this, fantastic high contrast B&W image.
A belated thanks to Dave, and thank you to Ian, its one of my favourite places and have been trying various shots here.
