This young kestrel was around for several days and I was trying to get a look at it. When I wandered off, luckily with my camera & 100-400 lens attached it decided to use the tripod as a vantage point.
As it was hand held I know it won't win any prizes but I thought you'd like to share this magic moment.

V1 has a bit of humour to it but V2 and V3 are quite dramatic shots. I like James' comment about V2!! John

Thanks everyone, I saw it again most days last week & I'm pleased to say that it's now managed to hover very well.
I spoke to the RSPB today at a show & they said it's very rare even for a young bird to use such a low perch so i feel very pleased to have had the moment.
