Another in the Snorkeller's world series from Indonesia
A composite image of corals, fanworms, starfish, seen while snorkelling at Kungkungan in Lembeh, Indonesia.
Such a kaleidoscope of colour against the volcanic sand even in shallow water I wanted to show them together, hence the composite image.
All were seen within a few metres of the shore and in shallow water during a single swim..

Thanks for the views & comments, really appreciated.
Bricurtis, after this swim we spent a couple of weeks where at the team from Life filmed the reef that featured in the Nov 2nd episode. They were there for six weeks.
We didn't see it as we were there at the time it was shown but I've bought the dvd as a Christmas treat.
The experience of swimming over a pristine reef and having fish actually come up and investigate you was completely mind blowing.
I haven't had time to do more than have a quick look at the pictures we took but I hope to put a few on here in due course. It's a way of enjoying the moment all over again.![]()

It must have been a wonderful experience for you Penny as that reef and its inhabitants were amazing. I watched and recorded it in HD and it looked absolutely fabulous.
Thanks for the information - I will look out for more images from your shoot.
Brian.
So easy to find at the other side of the world, but so far away and too far for most of us. A wonderful selection of crystal colours under the tropical sea, a reason for wanderlust to take a hold of so many.

Lovely kaleidoscope of colour and strange forms.
Moira
Thank you all, much appreciated.
Yes Dave our fragile planet indeed, it was such a pleasure to be with people intent on saving the reef. It's a pay-off between supporting their efforts & letting the long-liners, dynamiters, shark-finners, etc. get away with it because no-one is there. I wish travelling wasn't such a two- edged sword.![]()
