I know water-voles don't quite have the same cuteness factor as red squirrels & robins, the wow of the big cats, or the colour of red kites but my day photographing these delightful creatures in a private stream in Kent has to be shared with you.

This youngster was quite happy to be photographed and at one time I had two swimming round my feet.

It might have been dull and a bit wet at first but it was just as much fun as going on Safari.....honest.

If anyone wants to give it a go Terry Whittaker's workshops will be going on for a bit longer yet.

It wasn't a meet but all five of us who met there were EPZ members, all be it somewhat lapsed!!!

Absolutely delightful capture of this beautiful little creature! Pin sharp detail, lovely pose and light and superb coat textures and tones. Love the reflection of the clover flower too. How weird that, as you mention red kites in your description, that I am your gallery neighbour with my Red-tailed Hawk Smile A chance in a million!

Lovely shot, great colours and reflection. It's easy to forget the little characters on the ground as well as in the sky.

Thanks everyone, it's been more popular than the fish. Of course I should have laid down in the water to get a half & half but it was chilly enough with just my wellies full of water.Wink

oh I disagree, they are definately cuter, and more whiskery than robins

Thanks everyone, yes it was a wonderful day and Dougie, I did try wearing waders and that was quite hysterical, I'm just not built for them.Wink

Yes so cute indeed what a super capture. Reminds me of the old t.v. series Tales Of The River Bank. Well done.
