This is beautiful! Almost monochromatic, but with the one spot of colour. Wonderful composition, with the birds and the boat on THIRDS Wink

Couldn't give a damn about thirds usually, but I have to admit the principle works here.
Curiously, apart from the style of the boat being wrong, this has the look of 19th Century Chinese paintings I've seen, simple but stylised, poles in the water, birds in the sky but no real division between the two. I think it's that lack of a clear horizon that makes this so effective - we can sail off into the sky.

Tomorrow's upload is even more Chinese in style, probably better than this one since it is vertical giving even more space to the empty sky and dwarfing the man and boat....

wow, his is a great shot David, great placement of the elements in he frame, good melancholoc feel through the colors and the old material.
