A photo of pencils that I've tried to give a retro look too, shot in natural light. Any Critique's welcome.

Good choice of colours: blue and yellow are complementary colours so give good contrast against each other. It's a little soft, though — I'm not sure if that's from the camera or your processing. I'm also not quite sure about the composition but I can't put my finger on what seems (only slightly) wrong. I think it looks a little imbalanced because the can is rather further from the right-hand edge than from the bottom of the frame.

Thanks David, I think the soft look is through the processing, on the larger pic it looks sharper, I tried to make it look even on the right side by having the right hand pencil roughly the same distance to the one at the top and the can bottom. Maybe this didn't work or it gives an optical illusion of being off balance? will take note of your advice.

Regards Andy.

Nice abstract - the limited colours work well.

Love the colours and the composition, although the tin is leaning a little (top edge further to the right than the bottom edge). In keeping with the simplicity of the image, clean lines in the reflection on the tin might have been better.

Thank you for your advice, Anne. I think you're right, I had not noticed it before but the can does look too be leaning slightly. I will also be more careful about the reflections.

regards Andy.
