Good shot, Love the sky, would prefer the lighthouse a bit further left.

I'm not into this digital world but how did you manage to take what is predominantley a B & W shot with two stripes of red ?

This would be impossible with film !

Amazing sky!
Not sure about the selective colouring, but this is great in BW and I'd love to see it in colour too.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Will check out the PM issue (it's around somewhere), the original of this shot is a 68MB TIFF so a lot more detailed than the 57 kilobyte thing here.

JJGEE - on the original colour image, the red was "selected" in Photoshop and then the selection was inverted (which selected everything except the red), then I used the hue/saturation control to wipe out all the selected colour. In general I don't like selective colouring, but the lighthouse didn't stand out enough without it. If I'd been piloting the boat, I would have got in a lot lot closer, and probably hit rocks, but the lighthouse would have been more dramatic. Wink

Not too keen on the selective colouring either, but a fine image nonetheless

Nice one! I like the selective colouring. I didn't notice the lighthouse in the thumbnail, but it really sets off the shot.
