I have a few ambitions. Thought I'd write them here.
From a photographic perspective I would like one of my photographs to be used on the cover of an album. I've managed an inside gatefold cover of a 7" single back in the 80s when I was shooting bands, but I'd like one on the cover now.

Musically I want to produce a CD album. I have created various music projects over the years, but only ever produce one saleable product. This was a cassette back in the 80s of industrial/experimental music. We created 10 cassettes for sale (placed in record Collector Sheffield) and we sold one copy!

I'd like a small part in a film. I've been an extra in Bronson, but would like a higher profile piece - not too many lines I'd struggle to remember them all.

To create a film. I love arthouse films and would really like to come up with a script and film and direct a 30 min piece. I had a cine camera and did some abstract stuff back in the 80s, since then epz.tv is all I've done.

Write a book. I would love to write a gripping thriller. I have no experience in this and probably don't have the literary genius to pull it off, but who knows, I'll give it a go.

What am I doing about these? Apart from the CD, just dreaming. Re the CD, I'm working with our IT guy David - we've created a duo called ourselves Flak and have had one session and laid down one track. It's a start....slow but sure.

Flak sounds like something you get when what you produce is not so good... Wink

But hey, it's good to have dreams. Once there's nothing left to dream about, what kind of life do you have, eh?

Be sure to let us know once you do get to a stage where you have a CD ready, I'm sure many members on here would like to download a few sample tracks!

Pete the following is a true story.

I have no musical ability whatsoever, I'm tone deaf. About 15 years or so ago I decided to try to learn guitar to accompany a friend who played flute. After some years I could hack out a few chords if they were written down in front of me. In our naivety we then decided to form a band and subsequently make a CD. The latter took us hundreds of hours in my 'junk' room often until 3 or 4 in the morning. (we all had 'real jobs). Eventually it was finished. We sent it to a number of magazines for review etc. where it got a very positive response and it got picked up and played on Radio 3's 'Late Junction' programme. It was even featured in Roland's magazine as an example of what could be done with their home recording equipment (I had to learn the recording and engineering skills by trial and error).

At that point I decided to quit music whilst I was ahead; but it does show that if you turn your mind to something you can do it. So go for it. I'll even send you a copy if you want!

Do you realise the inspiration you create around you Pete ??

My ambitions have turned into goals since I met you and the EPZ team at Focus Smile

All of those first goals have been achieved and I am now on my second and third (in some cases) set of goals, and feel very proud of myself but am sensible enough to realise that it was not just achieved by hard work but by the encouragement and belief from certain people and from those who have helped me have confidence in myself and believe in my ideas.

So, now that you have put your ambitions on paper (so to speak) they are now actually GOALS......

Write your book Pete, please, even if it is just for yourself because Ive realised if you never try you will never know and always wonder.

Not that I actually think your the sort of guy to let the grass grow and not be an achiever...

Oh, and I will buy your book for sure, just make sure it is full of lots of twists and turns Smile

Hope this makes sense!!!

I put a copy in the post for you Pete; watch the staff don't nick it! It could become a collector's item. Wink
