I had a surprise visit from an old friend, Katie, today who brought along her new baby, Sophia. I wasn't prepared for taking photos and had to revert to an old Pentax K10 which is a bit noisy at higher ISO settings.

This is window lit at ISO800. There was a lot of noise so I decided to go 'Scotch 400 film style' on it. Grain added in Lightroom. I like this one because of the way she appears to be pointing!

Doesn't matter about the noise....a good shot is a good shot. Never used to bother with it in the good old film days...in fact, it was positively enhanced with fast film as you will no doubt know! And this is a good shot, so the grain, even enhanced, doesn't detract at all....a lovely image, really lovely

The noise is not an issue when the little one poses like this....
