My first upload for a couple of weeks due to computer problems... but now the hard drive is replaced and editing programs re-installed I'm back in business! Grin
This is sunrise at Loch Garten in the Cairngorm National Park. Although the colour earlier hadn't been great, I really liked the way the sky reflected in the water once the sun got up a little and the contrast created between the steely blues of the clouds and the yellows of the rising sun. The horizon is level but the loch curves at the right hand side!

The ice has gone and milder temperatures are now in evidence here, Alan: a fine sunrise image, the grass stems in the f/g adding interest in the flat calm of the surface, which also affords mirror image reflections.
Glad to see you back and up and running again.
Ronnie.

.... running my own birthday party yesterday!! GrinGrin

A well-placed horizon, Al and a lovely contrast between the cool, calm, and clarity of the foreground with the hot, busy furnace of the sunrise.

Very nice Al , has loads of impact with that explosive sun burst and as Dave says it contrasts beautifully with the fg.... Boulder arrangement wasn't part of the birthday games then Smile

Cheers Jeremy; Loch Garten is suprisingly deep so all but the largest boulders would sink below the surface (I imagine, not that I've tried of course, the RSPB might get twitchy (no pun intended) if I did!). Grin

Glorious light and beautiful reflections of a stunning sky scape, Al. I love the low POV and the way the reeds lead the eye towards the distant sunrise. Such a lovely atmosphere of calm and serenity.
