Very beautiful. It's as though we are peering under a veil of foliage, the leaves frame the composition but also create a sense of distance, they distinguish here from there, if that makes sense.

"After a long struggle through dense jungle we gradually emerge from the foliage . . . . "
Far-fetched, I know, but the deep fringe rather suggests to me a sudden emergence into light after days of darkness, a welcome feeling indeed.

The unusual shapes in bokeh that you noticed were possibly grasses or reeds at the trackside.
Excellent example of how a natural frame can really enhance a composition. Wonderful image.

you certainly dont seem over crowerd with people up there
this really is a wonderful landscape
A very well composed shot, you have some beautiful scenery in Scotland
The branches/leaves create a beautiful frame that truly enhances the shot Dougie. Superb work.

I tracked you down on Google Earth, I think I saw from where you took this image. What a place! Still missing in my agenda.
Booked our flights to Scotland (24th March/8th April) - my itinerary goes towards the east cost and Borders this time, but should I have a day to meet up with you, I'll get in touch via mobile. Let's see how things devellop. I might just jump over to Glasgow for a day.

PS. Blamey! I forgot to tell you how much I like this image - it is Scotland at it's best! We had another load of snow this morning. 15 cm!
And it is still snowing...............................!
