Another image from the Tidal Pool on Margate's beach. No messing with the colour file on this one. Straight to Mono.
Processed using Nix Silver FXpro and PS CS6.
Really really nice.
Yeah...that'll do Derek. Very nice indeed.
Such an innocuous place, a boating pool, made mysteriously huge and empty via your processing.
Thanks for the UA Charlotte. Chuffed!!
Very subtle, Me likes it
superb composition Derek and the processing is sublime. Love the light hitting the steel pole and the reflection following the course of the concrete, can't fault it
Another great shot!
Excellent work Derek. Love everything about this one!
Brilliant conversation. Great atmosphere
A great composition
Thanks for the award Jeremy. Really great to get it.
It is the geometry and the wonderfully calming feel that makes this image work so very well....

Thanks Chris. I did quite a bit of work on this to get it to what you see now. Mainly using curves adjustment layers, gradients and the dodge/burn tool. I have uploaded the RAW file image straight out of camera (reduced in size and saved as a jpeg for the web of course)
Good choice Derek with the mono and time spent has paid off, a super image.
Another cracking image Derek. Love the conversion
Certainly the right choice with the Mono to lead Derek
Another magnificent image Derek.
Very impressive. I love the long shadow of the sign leading along the edge of the pool.
Makes me want to revisit our own tidal pools in Guernsey.
Thank you for your award Mark. Its truly appreciated.
Another wonderful image strikingly processed, Derek
Mono is very striking here Derek, but I can picture it in the wonderful blue tones that you capture and am looking forward to seeing that too
Brutally simple image , works great , great surreal feel and sense of emptiness .
Intriguing. Seeing is unbelieving.......Sandy
Simple, subtle but very powerful .... mono works best for me
You have done a grand job Derek! with the processing ,it was a gem before, but made it so much better, by the amount of effort you put into it .
Really made my day to see the GEA Gilly. Many thanks.
Superbly conceived and processed Derek.
An image to be well proud of.

Thank you Dougie and many thanks for your award.
Cool stuff Derek.
I didn't know Margate could look so peaceful or so stunning. Very 1930's especially in black and white!
Excellent mono work!
Mono by a mile, the darker look here works very well indeed
I love that triangle then the post just finishes it off. first class Derek.
