This is from a re-visit to Loch an Eilein and the foreground I'd 'simplified.' It was a lot less misty this occasion. Hope you all had a good weekend, I was working so haven't caught up on all your images but I'm looking forward to it Smile

I love the look and "feel" of the tree in the foreground, bleached bones spring to mind, pointing the way towards the castle... It's not just a high quality image Al, it's top quality. Magnificent

The warm early light gives some lovely tones, especially the chestnut coloured log in the foreground. Very nicely arranged, pointing from the corner on a diagonal to the castle. The 2 secs smooths the water but not unnaturally so. and not a midge in sight! The log maybe a bit bright though (the far end is slightly blown as well) which makes it the focus of the image (unless this was your objective, of course) Smile

Wasn't my intention to have burn out Dave, I did reduce the exposure on those areas in processing but the contrast on the wood was just too much for my camera sensor's lattitude. There weren't any midgies either, some mossies but this weekend was the first time I have been bitten by a midgie all year! Grin

I prefer this to your previous upload, the lack of mist adds more impact to this nicely composed waterscape with interest in the foreground and the background.

Such a wonderful landscape, differing from others with such an interesting foreground and that hint of mist on the left. It's an image one can look at for ages and get so much out of it. Ann.
