taken with my new Canon 7d with a 15-85mm lens. Taken at sunset in my friend's back garden in Garstang Lancashire. The aim of the shot was to silhouette this rather dormant plum tree against the setting sun too really accentuate its form.

you did just that, its a lovely form in the silouette and the sky detail is equally lovely. i like this very much. it has a touch of Japanese style in there somewhere

its a great shame that this style of image has in many ways lost its popularity but i dont know why because it works as it always has.

its a good honest uncomplicated image and i like it a lot
Phil

I really can't find anything to fault in this.. your intent was a silhouette, it's perfectly sharp and the main silhouetted subject has no annoying intrusions. The sky hehind is nicely exposed with no burnout.

If I had to make a tiny nigling constructive suggestion, it would be to reduce the black line of land at the bottom to even a thinner sliver...but that's really splitting hairs...nice work

Stephen

I always like silhouette pictures.. and in particular loving the colours of the sky and the sunset

Especially against a stunning backdrop of an ocean or an amazing sky like this one.

Very nice. The 7D is a rather fine instrument as I know.
