Very interesting sky Peter - lovely purple colours. There is a lot of burn out though in the white clouds just above the horizon line. Have a look at your histogram. There is a huge range between the white clouds and the dark purple sky towards the top of the picture and your camera has just been unable to cope with the difference. Taking two exposures, one for the light areas and one for the dark areas, might be a way forward although you have to do it quickly if the clouds are moving. Then you can blend the two together in Photoshop. Otherwise you can use an ND grad filter to dampen down the very white areas and bring them back within a range the camera can cope with.

Your horizon is showing signs of pincushioning effect where the ends are higher than the middle. I have uploaded a mod where I have applied a correction in Photoshop (under the filter menu). I used the auto settings which seem to have done a reasonable job. Otherwise a good shot - good depth of field, looks sharp, colours are lovely.

Best wishes

Catherine

Hi, thats probably the best advice I have received, the helpful kind, sometimes people just write how its not there thing and leave it at that and I think, thats not helping at all!? Lol, constructive criticism is what I need!

I'm going to upload another, shouldnt be as much burnt bits with this Smile

Many thanks,

Peter

A rather nice simple pictorial image, made by the colour. Not entirely natural, but who cares if it looks good, and it does.
