Cowslip, Primula veris.

According to legend, St Peter dropped the keys to heaven when he learned a duplicate set had been made. The keys landed somewhere in northern Europe, and the first cowslips sprang forth from that spot.
The flowers are thought to represent the saint's bunch of keys, which is how they are known in some areas of the UK.

Thanks for the info John, the shot was taken at Cherhill Downs this evening, I was hoping to find some Chalkland Butterflies there, but no luck, so settled for the Cowslips and pics of the White Horse!!.

This really is a beautiful image, well worth the clicks it's got!

I looked really closely at the large version and it is absolutely smooth, no sign of the problems that you had the other day. Fantastic!
